Chicken fry (chicken vepudu)

Ingredients:

1 kg Chicken
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 medium onions chopped
2-3 green chillis
3-4 tbsp oil
1 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp chilli powder
2 tbsp yogurt
1 tsp turmeric
salt to taste
2 tbsp water


How i make it:

  1. Heat the non stick pan and add oil, once the oil is hot add chopped onions, green chillis and cook untill  light golden color.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste to the onions and fry untill raw smell is away.
  3. Add the chicken to the onion mixture, then add yogurt, chilli powder, salt, turmeric and stir it.
  4. Cover the pan for 5-10 mins untill the water oozing from chicken and give an another stir and cover. Add some 2 tbsp water at this point which  makes chicken tender.
  5. Cook untill all the water goes away, and keep stirring untill chicken slowly start to fry. Fry for 3-5 mins
  6. Add chopped coriander leaves to the frying chicken and still fry it for 2 mins and off the heat.
  7. Wait for 5 mins before serving.

Serve hot with rice or chapathi with a wedge of lemon a side ;)

Note: If wanted, can marinate the chicken an hour before with lemon, yogurt, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and salt.
